So recently the Godot Game Engine (or rather the foundation ) has been receiving hate for being "WOKE" and new forks claiming to "stay away from politics" have emerged
They were clearly just trying to cater to a queer audience which has been something that's been conmonly done by other "companies" (nearly every major brand) and they haven't received as much hate as this, mind you, SINGLE LIGHTHEARTED TWEET
The "no-politics" forks I've seen are just ridiculous
like WHYY???
What are you changing by forking an open source project??
the political viewpoints of the godot foundation has NEVER impacted the engine itself and using it also doesn't means "you support" their ideology
Hell you can even hide the fact you use godot by removing the splash screen and various other stuff WITHOUT HAVING TO MODIFY THE SOURCE, therefore you won't even give them exposure if that's what you are concerned of
I know the way they blocked a bunch of people was pretty bad but that's I think unrelated to the previous issues, as being blocked on twitter by them does not prevent access to the godot engine
and lastly this is a personal opinion and I don't want to get political but I find that there is **no logically sound** reason to hate "the woke ideology" (woke literally means to be aware of something ) or the lgbtq+
